Sure, we all fantasize about living on Mt. Charleston in summertime — but what’s life like for year-rounders, those intrepid few who decide to live there when snow drifts block roads and you have to (shudder) shovel the driveway? After this week’s massive snow dump on the mountain, we’re bringing back a conversation co-host Dayvid Figler had with year-rounder Jimmy Alderson, AKA “Mt. Charleston Mountain Man,” about what life is really like up there, and the survival skills you need to make it through winter.
