Vegas Is an Abortion Haven. What Happens Now?
In the wake of the Dobbs decision last year, 21 states banned or severely restricted abortion rights. But patients weren’t going to stop getting abortions — now they just have to travel further to get them. And as an easy-access tourist destination bordering red states, Las Vegas has quickly become one of the destinations for those seeking abortion care: Las Vegas Planned Parenthood centers, for example, have seen a 31% increase in abortion appointments and a 600% increase in patients arriving from Texas. Today, host Dayvid Figler sits down with Adrienne Mansanares, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountain Region, to talk about what this means for Las Vegas, and what comes next.
