To settle a lawsuit regarding alleged hidden fees, the cellular carrier Verizon is handing out upwards of $100 million to certain current and former customers. Since the company has a not-insubstantial presence in Southern Nevada, let’s look more closely:

What’s the deal: According to the class-action suit, Verizon snuck undisclosed “administrative charges” onto customer’s bills, thus charging more per month than promised.

Who’s eligible: People who were billed by Verizon on a monthly basis between Jan. 1, 2016, and Nov. 8, 2023.

How much can I get: Between $15-$100, depending on the length of time you were a customer — plus the satisfaction of holding a major telecom company accountable.

How do I get it: This is the dumb part: You have to print out this form, fill it out, and snail it to the address on the form. If your application is approved, you’ll either get a check or an electronic disbursement.

What’s the deadline: April 15. So start looking for an envelope and stamp now.
