Filipino Food Month Debuts in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is officially celebrating Filipino Food Month for the first time with Bahay Buko festivities and specials April 15-29. The events have the backing of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Nevada, the Istorya pop-up dining series, and local restaurants who are putting their best food forward in the spirit of culture and cuisine.

The Philippines has a long history of trade and colonization, leading to a melting pot of culinary influences. Recipes reflect a 300-year occupation by Spain and a 48-year rule by the United States, but also incorporate Chinese, Malay, Japanese, and Arab elements as well.

🤔 What are the Most Popular Dishes?

Adobo (typically a marinated and braised meat), sisig (crispy pork), and lumpia (spring rolls) are among the most popular dishes at Filipino restaurants in Vegas.

🍽️ How is Las Vegas Celebrating Filipino Food Month?

The Bahay Buko Kickoff & Launch Breakfast is April 15, 8-10 a.m. at Truffles N Bacon Café. Guests can buy dishes like Ube French Toast, Buko Pancakes, and a Breakfast Tocino Sandwich in advance.

Filipino Restaurant Week is April 20-28 with restaurants throughout the valley serving Filipino-inspired dishes with coconut (or buko) as the featured ingredient. Participating restaurants include:

The month wraps up with a Bahay Buko Social inside The Assembly at UnCommons, 6-10 p.m., on April 29 with food and live entertainment. Tickets are $50.
