Does Las Vegas Need Two New Film Studios?
What if a “Made in Nevada” logo appeared at the end of your favorite TV shows and movies? If the proponents of two film tax credit bills have their way, Nevada will massively expand the funding for production companies like Sony and Warner Bros. to build and operate huge studios right here in Las Vegas — a move they say will bring jobs and much-needed economic diversification to our city. Are they right? And why did this bill fail in the last legislative session? Co-host Sarah Lohman talks with Nevada Current editor April Corbin Girnus about the latest on film tax credits in Nevada.
