What Las Vegas's Talking About

📉 Violent Crime Down 17% in Henderson

According to new data from the Henderson Police Department, crime is down in every category, with violent crime seeing the sharpest declines. Some residents are skeptical, however, and don't think that the numbers reflect their lived experiences. Since the hiring of 400 new recruits, some locals are also noticing an increased police presence. [KTNV]

🌧️ Wet Weather Coming To Vegas

🛬 Lawsuits Filed Over Fiery Airplane Landing in 2024

Exactly two years after a Frontier Airlines plane caught fire while landing at Harry Reid International Airport, two passengers have sued the airline and are alleging negligence and claiming they suffered injuries as well as emotional distress. Each of the plaintiffs is seeking more than $15,000 in damages, and has requested a jury trial. [KLAS]

🫔 Why Are There So Few Street Vendors in Clark County?

Although street vending was legalized in Nevada in 2023, there are only 17 licensed vendors across the valley. Many attribute this to prohibitive start-up costs, too many licensing hoops to jump through, and rising immigration enforcement. Today on City Cast Las Vegas, we're talking about whether the current regulations set up potential food entrepreneurs to fail, the "selfie ban," and more. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
